The county inspector showed up today around noon. He was friendly and professional. He did a pretty thorough walk-through of the house and pointed out four minor things to be fixed. He signed off the permit and asked me to take care of the minor things as soon as possible. I drove to Home Depot and bought the materials to do them, and should have them done tomorrow.
So we can now get the propane hooked up…the people who do that are about a week out, so by this time next week we should be able to cook and have hot showers in the house.
Just as a quick review, if you are installing both electric and gas appliances the county will allow you to have the electric service hooked up before the final inspection. So we have had electricity for months, but no gas for the stove or water heater. Which is really just a minor inconvenience, as we could cook and shower in the RV.
